So, I came up with the idea of (well, I should say, I copied the concept of) the Facebook News Feed and tried my best to explain it. Still, I got a few questions that wanted some clarification about what the heck I was talking about.
In the past, I always came up with an idea, created a database, hooked up an ASP page/interface to it, and finally, maybe days (or weeks) later, I'd have my concept come to life before my eyes.
But is that really the best way to come up with an idea? Especially when working with others that don't feel like waiting forever to see what my thoughts are?
Thus, I'm going to use my hack skills at Photoshop and create mock-ups of everthing I'm documenting over in the Specifications Handbook and any new ideas we have. Here's the basic layout idea (first draft, have you) for what I'm rambling about here.

Nothing fancy, right? Ugly, in fact. But you get my drift? Now you can see what the home page of the SCORE OS system could look like.
Now, I love Photoshop...even the versions 2-3 years old, because it works great and lets me do a ton of stuff. But this is open source land, so we're going to use Paint.NET (download it here for free) to create our images that will at least show the basic concepts of the ideas we have for different nodes and such. We'll save all works-in-progress as PDN files and save finished files as PNG. I'll make sure to provide the link to any attached file so people can download and mess around with the files themselves, as well.
Next, I'm going to mockup that News Feed!
